• For the windows server 2012, you have to click on the server manager tab and click on “OK”. From the server manager, click on the “Tools” tab and click on IIS manager.
• You will find a connections tab. There right click on it and “sites” pane and click on “Add website”
• In that dialogue box, you will have to enter the domain name of your website.
• In the path box, you have to enter the physical path of the website’s folder to navigate to the file system and locate the folder.
• You can click on “connect as” to specify any credentials that have permission to access the path.
• You have to specify an IP address for the website and enter a port number.
• Optionally, you can enter a host header name for the website in the box with “Host Header” title.
• If you wish to make any changes to the site, then you can attend to it now and click on “OK” only when you are ready to start the website.
Default Documents, Authentication Configuration, and More
Once you are done with the changes and clicked on OK, you can configure anonymous authentication, static content compression, and default document from the Actions pane.
The final step is to test your website completely to make sure it operates just as you expected. You can then configure other features such as IIS logging set up, Request filtering for security of your web server.
